Our people
Mini De Silva, founder
Mini is a qualified Chartered Management Accountant with an MBA and over 25 years of experience in senior finance roles at leading technology companies, including Computer Associates, Ingres and Storage Networks Inc.
She founded Interim Assistance because she saw that entrepreneurial and scaling businesses needed a level of financial guidance and proactive support that typical accountancy firms were not providing.
Her experience covers all aspects of finance, HR and administration, from small-scale operations through to international companies dealing with cross-border rules and UK expansion. She has particular expertise in employee share schemes, including compliance, setup and ongoing management of tax-efficient arrangements.
Tim Shaw, managing director
Tim is a qualified Chartered Accountant and Chartered Tax Adviser with 40 years of experience leading, investing in and advising businesses, with a particular focus on technology.
Before acquiring Interim Assistance, Tim was managing director of an accountancy firm that specialised in advising international companies setting up in the UK, which he grew before selling in 2017. He subsequently founded a data analytics advisory firm.
His wider career includes serving as chief executive of a top-30 English Football League club, finance director of a leading sports and media agency and active investment in technology businesses spanning container logistics software, HR technology, football coaching technology and gamification.
Tim has served as a trustee of several not-for-profit organisations, including Rays of Sunshine Children's Charity, Behind Every Kick, and the Watford Palace Theatre, where he was vice-chairman.
